Aerial footage captured by a news helicopter shows the full extent of a five-truck pileup on Interstate 10 near Beaumont, Texas on June 2, 2026. The crash, which occurred during morning rush hour, involved five commercial trucks and two passenger vehicles.
Six people were injured, including three truck drivers and three motorists. Two victims were airlifted to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with serious injuries. The remaining four were treated at the scene or transported by ground ambulance.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has opened a full investigation. Preliminary reports suggest the crash began when a tanker truck rear-ended a slower-moving flatbed, triggering a chain reaction. Weather conditions at the time included light fog and reduced visibility.
I-10 remained closed in both directions for nearly eight hours, causing significant delays across Southeast Texas. TxDOT deployed emergency crews and a hazmat team due to a minor fuel spill from one of the damaged trucks.
